Unexpected Teachers
There's nothing like a puppy to expose all of your vulnerabilities.
You think that you're patient.
Get a puppy.
You think that you're even-tempered.
Get a puppy.
You think that you're flexible and able to go with the flow.
Get a puppy.
You think that you're good at reading body language.
Get a puppy.
You think that you have a good sense of timing.
Get a puppy.
You think that you don't mind how people perceive you.
Get a puppy AND go to puppy class.
But just as a puppy can expose your vulnerabilities, he can also teach vulnerability.
Need to be more present in the moment?
Get a puppy.
Need to remember to take time to play?
Get a puppy.
Need to bring curiosity back into your life?
Get a puppy.
Need to be reminded to slow down and rest?
Get a puppy.
Need to remember to be joyful when you see those you love?
Get a puppy.
Who in your life is an unexpected teacher?
Who challenges you in ways that may frustrate you but encourage growth?
Who can you be more joyful toward as a way of showing your love?
We are surrounded by unexpected teachers: children, spouses, co-workers, friends, animals, nature. Honor them. Be grateful for them.
And remember that you, too, are an unexpected teacher for others.
