Solitude
It is only in solitude that I ever find my own core.
~Anne Morrow Lindbergh
The power of solitude…freedom from work and responsibility to others with time and presence of mind to connect within. Solitude is truly one of the best gifts one can give to themselves. Through a change of events, I was immersed in solitude.
I embraced it.
I honored me.
I honored my pain, my sadness, my flaws, my strengths, my courage and my love.
I filled my days with things that nourished my soul…all the way to my core.
I savored simplicity, connection, honesty, and vulnerability.
There were no rules to follow, no expectations to meet, no schedule to check.
There was flow, freedom, play, creativity and expression.
And beautiful moments of awareness.
I have a clearer understanding of the profound request that has been lovingly bestowed upon me.
And it is profound.
It requires deep acceptance of the magnitude of who I am.
It needs to settle deeply in my heart though I have lovingly accepted the request.
It is a sacred gift given to me.
One that still seems incredulous.
Yet I accept it.
With increasing whole-heartedness every day.
Finding my core in solitude…
