There is pleasure in the pathless woods, there is rapture in the lonely shore, there is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar; I love not Man the less, but Nature more.
~Lord Byron

Nature is one of our most consistent, ever-present teachers. Regardless of the season, there is always something to gain from Nature, including deep respite and peace.

    Pathless Woods

Imagine the freedom of not having a strict, regulated approach to your day. The ability to wander with curiosity and see where your instincts guide you can be so liberating. Taking time to notice what is around you and filling your senses with the surroundings keeps you grounded in the present moment. You can experience gratitude for all that exists and your presence within it without having to control or change anything. You simply get to be and experience the hug of support from Nature. How can you incorporate these messages into your day?

    Lonely Shore

There is something magical and inspiring about water, especially when you stand alone in front of a large body of water. The flow of the water and the crashing of the waves captivates the mind and models the ease and fluidity of existing. The tranquility of the rhythm of the water inspires release and surrender. The lapping of the waves resembles gentle persistence, reaching for what lies in front of you. How can the fluid tranquility of water inspire you?

    Autumn

Autumn demonstrates the surrender involved in letting life change you--into beautiful radiance--and releasing what no longer serves you. There is complete acceptance in the cycle of death and rebirth. The shorter stretches of daylight gently hug you into quietude while finding greater joy when the sun shines so brilliantly. Cleaning out the gardens offers the opportunity to offer gratitude for what the earth has supported, be it flowers, vegetables, or whatever else you nurtured. How can you allow life to change you into beautiful radiance?

    Winter

The chill in the air nudges you to warmth within…your home, your heart. The glistening snow invites awe and wonder, honoring the beauty of stillness, and taking in the magnificence of simply being. The blankets of snow support the nourishment of the roots beneath the earth. The overall hush encourages finding mental quiet, slowing down the pace, and savoring the gifts you have. How will you allow Winter to nourish your roots?

    Spring

Spring is full of possibility, growth, perseverance, and anticipation of what is to come. As the days get longer and the sun gets warmer, the plants and trees ‘hear’ the cue and open to the vulnerability of blooming. The birds joyfully sing, letting their voices be heard. New life is everywhere. Clean off the dirt, let the rain wash you clean, and play! How will you allow Spring to inspire growth within you?

    Summer

Summer nurtures the seeds planted in Spring, models patience for growth, and delights in the demonstration of the result. The interconnectedness of all things shines in Summer with the balance of rain and shine, warm days, and cooler evenings. There seems to be a constant celebration in Summer, soaking in the richness of what Nature has to offer. How will you allow Summer to inspire balance in your life?

Tune in to what is around you.

Nature offers a constant demonstration of vulnerability, trust, flexibility, risk, surrender, acceptance, growth…and connection.

And she shares these lessons in bold, beautiful, breath-taking ways. Let Nature inspire you…hold you…support you.
